Vice President, Data Driven Enterprise

The Vice President of the Data Driven Enterprise business unit at Valorem Reply is responsible for the overall strategy, performance and growth of a team chartered with driving the delivery of Data Transformation, AI / ML / IOT, and Business Intelligence.  We are seeking an action-oriented visionary who to lead the creation of high-value advanced analytics solutions leveraging Valorem Reply’s proven implementation methodology and solutions on the Microsoft technology platforms. The Vice President will also oversee financial management, people management, career mentorship and new employee recruitment. This position will work collaboratively across all Valorem Reply’s sales, service delivery and account management organizations in the service to Valorem Reply’s customers.  This role requires a deep Customer Obsession and Deliver Results mentality.  Your work across service lines will enable the development of more comprehensive data-enabled solutions. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive Microsoft and Opensource technology experience implementing Big Data with Advanced Analytics solutions including data ingestion, data storage, data shaping, machine learning, predictive analytics and data visualization.  The preferred candidate will be familiar with the market challenges in multiple industry verticals, have experience with emerging technologies in advanced analytics and experience with non-Microsoft technologies.

In addition to your participation in all aspects of data-enabled solutions (strategy assessments, platform and vendor comparisons, data governance framework development, solution architecture), you will also be responsible for achieving profitable revenue targets.  The ability to identify, recruit and retain high caliber team members will be core to your success. 

The Successful Candidate:
The ideal candidate must be a high-energy, strategic and technical expert leader possessing a strong sense of urgency with a performance-based track record of success.  S/he will have demonstrated successful expertise with a Microsoft Systems Integrator organization, will be technically adept, possessing a broad combination of skills and experiences reflecting the complexities of advanced analytics on the Microsoft stack in a consulting organization.  This role requires technical Data & Analytics subject matter expertise and the capability to influence critical and timely transformational change for our customers.  The ideal candidate is an entrepreneur.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
  • Experience delivering business value to customers with Data Analytics solutions
  • 10+ years Hands-on experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or current hands-on Data Analytics or Machine Learning solutions
  • Customer relationship management experience in a consulting team leadership role
  • Knowledge of data landscape including the DWH/Spark/Hadoop Ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with on premise transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL and/or Postgres, as well as MPP databases (Teradata, Netezza, Vertica and Greenplum).
  • Experience with cloud-based data analytical platforms and unified analytics (Azure SQLdb, Azure Synapse, Databricks, etc.)
  • Knowledge of optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance.
  • Ability to lead enterprise data strategies including data lake delivery
  • Leader of leader experience (2nd line manager)
  • Familiarity with TCO, ROI and Value Models to help Customers understand the cost/benefit equation associated with Data Analytic Cloud solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Project Management principles
  • Consulting sales experience and ability to sell $1M+ professional services engagements
  • Leadership of team sizes > 30
  • Previous P&L responsibility
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders and Customers simultaneously.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Business Administration·
  • Big Four consulting background
  • Previous Big-Four consulting experience in Data & Analytics as a Practice Manager is a plus 
  • Capable of leading a team of Data Engineers/Data Architect consultants / Project Managers
  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges of Data Analytics in an enterprise environment.
  • Identify, lead and contribute to the creation of best practices, packaged offering, white papers, workshops, etc.
  • One or more Microsoft Associate level certifications.
  • Industry leadership in the fields of database, data warehousing or data sciences.
  • Prior hands-on experience in data warehousing design, tuning and ETL/ELT process development.
  • Implementing Microsoft services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP databases, NoSQL storage, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboard development.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing, Azure services such as Cognitive Services, ADF, Azure Synapse,
  • Enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment fast paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics to an audience with various functional knowledge
